The Under/Over goals market offers punters a great way of using stats to find great value bets in any league. With this type of market, you need a good sample size to work with, so with eight games now played in the Premier League, now is a good time to start looking for patterns.

Over 2.5 goals

All good bookmakers will offer you odds in this market. For a bet to pay out, three goals or more must be scored during 90 minutes of regulation play (including stoppage time).

Chelsea

Jose Mourinho´s side may not be performing well in the league this season but they are a hot pick in the Over 2.5 goals market. Seven out of their eight games so far this term have finished with three goals or more.

Over 2.5 goals: Home 75% – Away 100% – Total 87.5%

Leicester City

Unlike Chelsea, the Foxes are doing well in the league and have exceeded most people’s expectations. They are also a good team to look out for when placing Over 2.5 goal bets. Six out of their eight games so far have produced a positive result in this market.

Over 2.5 goals: Home 75% – Away 75% – Total 75%

Norwich

The Canaries are a good bet when it comes to the Over 2.5 goals market. Games involving the Norfolk side have paid out six times in eight games this season, the only exceptions being two 1-1 draws.

Over 2.5 goals: Home 75% – Away 75% – Total 75%

West Ham

Every game involving the Hammers during the 2015/16 Premier League campaign has featured at least two goals, and six have exceeded the 2.5 threshold.

Over 2.5 goals: Home 75% – Away 75% – Total 75%

Southampton

If the Saints are playing at home, they should be considered in this market; 100% of their matches at St Marys’ have produced more than 2.5 goals. However, their away record is not so encouraging.

Over 2.5 goals: Home 100% – Away 50% – Total 75%

Under 2.5 goals

Two goals or less during 90 minutes of normal time will pay out in this market. This is a less popular bet but should not be overlooked.

Watford

When the Hornets are playing at home, goals are an endangered species. In the four league games at Vicarage Road this season, only two goals have been scored, resulting in a 100% strike rate for Quique Sanchez Flores’ team in this market. When they play away it’s a different story and they should be avoided.

Under 2.5 goals: Home 100% – Away 50% – Total 75%
